Biden's dire warning: If we don't stop Russia, the war will shift to

The American president, Joe Biden, has mentioned the Balkans and the danger that threatens it if the United States does not continue to send aid to Ukraine, which is facing the Russian invasion, from February 2022.

Speaking after a conference with American heads of state, on January 19, Biden mentioned the powerful position of the United States in the world, and the challenges that other countries are facing.

"If we stop, and Russia continues to fight and Ukraine is defeated, what do you think will happen to the Balkan countries? What will happen to Poland until Hungary? Seriously, think about it. It changes the dynamic," Biden said, according to the White House.

The United States, which has aided Ukraine the most since the start of the war, currently faces a blockade from some conservative Republicans, who have opposed further aid allocations to the country.
Biden's aid package includes $50 billion for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel.

Even the European Union has failed to allocate funds worth 50 billion dollars to Ukraine, due to the veto used by Hungary.

Last month, the head of the US Budget Office, Shalanda Young, said in a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson that if military aid ends, then Kiev will bow to Russian occupation.
In total, the United States has allocated $111 billion to Ukraine since the start of the war, including $67 billion for the purchase of military equipment.

Russian President Vladimir Putin calls the war a "special military operation" to demilitarize Ukraine.

The West has responded to Russia, hitting the economy of this country with harsh sanctions.

As a result of the war, thousands of people have died and millions more have been displaced from their homes.

Preventing any conflict in the Balkans

Even the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, repeated in November of last year that the last thing the West wants in the Western Balkan region is the return of conflicts, as he mentioned the importance of NATO's presence.

After the attacks in Banjska i Zveçan, in September last year, KFOR, the NATO mission in Kosovo, has increased its presence in this country and now counts 4,500 members.
On September 24, a Serbian armed group attacked the Kosovo Police, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku.

Kosovo has blamed the state of Serbia for the attack, although the latter has denied everything.

The responsibility for the attack was taken by Millan Radoicic, former vice-president of Lista Serbe, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo.

The International Police Agency (INTERPOL) has already issued an arrest warrant for him. / REL
